A “young, attractive guy.” US President Donald Trump responded to press questions about his meeting with the Syrian leader Ahmed al-Sharaa as he flew on board Air Force One between Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Trump also referenced al-Sharaa’s past membership of Al Qaeda, saying he had “a tough past.”
